Ian Ingleton, Avid ACSR Elite, ACI

With a wealth of knowledge & experience equalled by few, if any, ‘Ingo’ is one of the most respected and in-demand Avid Consultants in the country today.

Ian has an impressive 30 years experience in Film and Television in roles including: Telecine Colourist, CMX Editor, Technical Director on commercials, drama and sport OBs, Operations Manager and now THE Avid support guru.

Ian has been directly associated with Avid products since their introduction to Australia in the early 90’s and was the first Sales Engineer for Avid at Amber Technology. It was at this time he was joined by Kathy-Anne McManus to form the core of Avid’s resource team in Australia. And so began well over a decade of travel around Australia and New Zealand installing, demonstrating, teaching and supporting Avid products.

Mid 1995, coincident with that year’s SMPTE conference, Avid itself opened a subsidiary in Australia based at Lane Cove. Ian, along with Kathy-Anne, was seconded to Avid Australia to form the basis of the product sales, support and training team.

In the following 5 busy years Ian becoming the first Unity trained ACSR in the region installing 3 Unity’s and initially 5 Avids in Wellington for Lord of the Rings Trilogy. The year 2000 saw Avid Technology USA sell the franchise to Amber Technology with Ian moving there as Product Specialist for the Media Composer range.

Late in 2003 Ian left Avid Australia to fulfil a Freelance Consultant and Support role within the industry, contracting to companies such as Cutting Edge Post, supporting the operation of their new Sydney facility and performing Avid installation & support on Australia Idol 2 and 3, X- Factor and Big Brother 5.
